The heart of Yerevan, framed by neoclassical pink-and-yellow tuff buildings. Every evening the famous musical fountains dance to Armenian folk and classical music. The oval stone mosaic is designed to resemble a traditional Armenian carpet from above. Once called Lenin Square, it was renamed after independence in 1991.

Yerevan's beloved open-air weekend market, stretching along Aram and Buzand Streets near Republic Square. Born in the 1980s when local artists began selling on the street, it now overflows with handmade carpets, silver jewelry, khachkars, and Soviet memorabilia. Fun fact: in 2019 a rare 17th-century illuminated gospel was discovered here among Soviet posters.

Built in 1765–66, the Blue Mosque is the only active mosque in Armenia and the last of eight that once stood in Yerevan. Iran funded its restoration after independence — today its turquoise and indigo tile mosaics are stunning. During Soviet times the courtyard served as a creative gathering place for Armenian writers and artists.

Founded in 782 BC by Urartian King Argishti I, Erebuni is the ancient ancestor of modern Yerevan — the city's name evolved from 'Erebuni' over centuries. Archaeologists found grape seeds here dating back 2,800 years, evidence of one of the world's earliest large-scale wineries. The hilltop site offers sweeping views over the Ararat plain.
